Tổ chức Phóng Viên Không Biên Giới (PVKBG) bị sốc về việc giam giữ bí mật Nguyễn Tiến Trung trong ba tuần nay. Tổ chức sợ rằng Trung bị áp lực lớn về thể chất và tâm lý nhằm buộc Trung thừa nhận các “trọng tội” cáo buộc.

“Điều khẩn cấp là chính quyền cần đồng ý để một luật sư hoặc ba mẹ Trung vào thăm Trung. Những phương pháp cảnh sát áp dụng hoàn toàn không có phẩm cách và củng cố nhận định cho rằng việc trấn áp những nhà bất đồng chính kiến ở Việt Nam được tiến hành với bất cứ giá nào. Cộng đồng quốc tế cần gợi lại cho chính quyền Việt Nam nhớ về những nghĩa vụ của họ trong vấn đề Nhân quyền”, Tổ chức này bày tỏ.

Ngày 28 tháng Bảy 2009, Nguyễn Tiến Trung bắt đầu tuần lễ thứ tư bị giam giữ bí mật ở Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh. Anh đã bị bắt tại tư gia của ba mẹ vào ngày 7 tháng Bảy 2009 vì có những hành động vi phạm Điều 88 BLHS. “Không ai được gặp anh từ khi anh bị bắt. Chúng tôi slo ngại rằng cảnh sát đang huy động tất cả các biện pháp để cố có được lời nhận tội từ anh, như họ đã từng làm với luật sư Lê Công Định”, em trai của Trung giải thích.

Ngày 2 tháng Tám, một cuộc tuần hành sẽ được tổ chức tại Quảng trường Nhân quyền Troncadero ở Paris để yêu cầu trả tự do cho Nguyễn Tiến Trung.

Tốt nghiệp từ Trường kỹ sư khoa học ứng ụng- INSA de Rennes (Pháp), anh thành lập Tập Hợp Thanh Niên Dân Chủ vào năm 2006. Các cấp chính quyền có vẻ phê phán anh về những bài viết của anh, nhất là bức thư ngỏ anh gửi Chính phủ về chính sách giáo dục và về việc anh gia nhập và cống hiến cho Đảng Dân Chủ Việt Nam.
Cổ võ cho dân chủ tại Việt Nam, anh đã từng được tiếp kiến Thủ tướng Canada Stephen Harper, cựu Thổng thống Mỹ George W. Bush và nhiều nghị sĩ Mỹ.
Vào ngày 14 tháng Bảy, Liên Minh Châu Âu đã kêu gọi công khai trả tự do cho Nguyễn Tiến Trung.

French-educated blogger held incommunicado for past three weeks

Reporters Without Borders is shocked that pro-democracy blogger Nguyen Tien Trung has been held incommunicado for the past three weeks and it fears that he is being subjected to considerable physical and psychological pressure in an attempt to get him to confess to “crimes”.

“The authorities must allow Trung to receive a visit from a lawyer or his relatives at once,” Reporters Without Borders said. “These police-state methods are disgraceful and reinforce the impression that the authorities are ready to go to any lengths to crack down on dissidents. The international community must remind Vietnam of its obligation to respect human rights.”

Arrested at his family’s home in Ho Chi Minh City on 7 July for violating article 88 of the criminal code, Trung will begin his fourth week in detention tomorrow. “No one has seen him since his arrest,” his brother told Reporters Without Borders. “We are afraid that the police are using all possible means to extract a confession from him, as they did with the lawyer Le Cong Dinh.”

A demonstration will be held at the Human Rights Esplanade in the Paris district of Trocadero on 2 August to demand Trung’s release.

A graduate of the INSA school of engineering in Rennes, in France, Trung created the Association of Young Vietnamese for Democracy in 2007. He seems to have been arrested because of what he posted online, above all a letter to the government about education policies, and because of his involvement in the Vietnam Democracy Party.

As a pro-democracy activist, he met Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, former US President George W. Bush and several American congressmen.
The European Union called publicly for his release on 14 July.

Trois semaines de détention au secret pour le blogueur démocrate Nguyen Tien Trung

Reporters sans frontières est choquée par la détention au secret de Nguyen Tien Trung depuis maintenant trois semaines. L'organisation craint qu'il ne soit soumis à de fortes pressions physiques et psychologiques pour avouer des "crimes".
"Il est urgent que les autorités accordent à un avocat ou à ses parents, le droit de rendre visite à Nguyen Tien Trung. Ces méthodes policières sont indignes et confortent le fait que la répression contre les voix dissidentes vietnamiennes se fait à n'importe quel prix. La communauté internationale doit rappeler le Viêt-nam à ses obligations en matière de droits de l'homme", a déclaré l'organisation.

Le 28 juillet 2009, Nguyen Tien Trung entame sa quatrième semaine de détention au secret à Ho Chi Minh Ville. Il a été arrêté au domicile de ses parents le 7 juillet 2009 pour violation de l'article 88 du code pénal. "Personne ne l'a vu depuis son arrestation. Nous avons peur que la police essaie par tous les moyens d'obtenir des aveux, comme ils l'ont fait avec l'avocat Le Cong Dinh", a expliqué son frère à Reporters sans frontières.

Le 2 août, une manifestation est organisée sur le parvis des droits de l'homme du Trocadéro à Paris, pour demander sa libération.

Diplômé de l'école d'ingénieur INSA de Rennes (France), il a créé l’Association des Jeunes Vietnamiens pour la Démocratie en 2007. Les autorités semblent lui reprocher ses écrits, notamment une lettre au gouvernement sur la politique d'éducation, et son engagement au sein du Parti de la démocratie au Viêt-nam.
Engagé en faveur de la démocratie au Viêt-nam, il a notamment rencontré le Premier ministre canadien Stephen Harper, l'ancien président américain George W. Bush et de nombreux députés américains.
Le 14 juillet, l'Union européenne a publiquement demandé la libération de Nguyen Tien Trung.
