Ms Tan Le, sinh năm 1978 tại Việt Nam là một nhân tài xuất chúng trong cộng đồng Việt Nam tại Úc. Cô và người em gái nhỏ cùng mẹ là thuyền nhân đã đến Malaysia sau 5 ngày 5 đêm lênh đênh trên biển. Cô lớn lên, tốt nghiệp Luật khoa và Thương Mại tại Úc. Với kỹ thuật điện toán sử dụng tư tưởng điều khiển máy rô-bô, Tan Le đã mở ra một kỹ nguyên mới trong lãnh vực này. Tan Le (born 1978), a Vietnamese-Australian telecommunications entrepreneur, is president and co-founder of Emotiv Systems. She was named the 1998 Young Australian of the Year.
Born in Vietnam , Tan migrated to Australia as a refugee with her family in 1982. Tan began university studies at the age of 16 and went on to complete a Bachelor’s degree in law and commerce in 1998 at Monash University . As president of the Vietnamese Community of Footscray Association, she made a number of contributions to charities and newspapers throughout Melbourne .
Tan co-founded and ran SASme, a pioneer in providing SMPP platforms to telecommunication carriers and content aggregators, and one of the companies responsible for the creation of Australia ’s SMS application market. Tan helped grow SASme to thirty-five employees and multiple locations worldwide. Tan has also worked with one of Australia ’s leading law firms, Freehills.
In 1998, Tan was named Young Australian of the Year and voted one of Australia ’s 30 Most Successful Women Under 30.
Tan was a Special Ambassador to the United Kingdom as a guest of the British High Commission and Foreign Commonwealth Office, a Goodwill Ambassador for Australia in Asia , and a Patron of the Australian Youth Ambassadors for Development Program. Tan has been an Ambassador for the Status of Women since 2001, and she has also been appointed to a number of prominent Boards, including Plan International Australia, Australian Citizenship Council, National Committee for Human Rights Education in Australia , and RMIT Business in Entrepreneurship.
In 2003, Tan co-founded Emotiv Systems, a neuroengineering company that has developed a breakthrough interface technology for digital media taking inputs directly from the brain. Emotiv’s vision is to revolutionize human-computer interface in the same way the graphical user interface (GUI) did 20 years ago. Emotiv has developed a product prototype targeted at the gaming industry and is in discussions with several key sectors such as defense, automotive, iTV, and health care. Emotiv is a recognized world leader and pioneer in this field of brain-computer interface. The company is headquartered in San Francisco and has its R&D centre located in Sydney , Australia .
